TARCO INTRODUCES LEAKBARRIER NR500^HT NON-REINFORCING ICE & WATER ARMOR UNDERLAYMENT

New Non-reinforced Underlayment Offers Dual Protection with Rubberized Adhesive and High-Strength Skid Resistant Surface

LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS – Tarco today announced the introduction of NR500HT Ice and Water Armor to its LeakBarrier® underlayment line of products. LeakBarrier® NR500HT is a 40-mil thick, premium, non-reinforced roofing underlayment comprising a specially formulated rubberized asphaltic adhesive compound that withstands high temperature conditions up to 250°F. It is surfaced with a high-strength, multi-laminate polyolefinic film structure that is uniquely treated to provide enhanced skid resistance.

Applications
LeakBarrier NR500HT is designed to prevent leaks caused by ice and water damming and wind-driven rain, and is highly effective in critical roofing areas such as valleys, ridges, coping joints, chimneys, vents, dormers, skylights, and other flashing areas. Besides being an excellent underlayment for shingle roofs of all kinds, it is also well suited for use beneath metal roofing and mechanically fastened tile roof systems.

LeakBarrier NR500HT is a versatile underlayment that adheres to a wide variety of substrates. It is easy-to-handle, easy-to-install, and very pliable. The cross-laminated polyethylene-based Valeron film surface provides superior UV resistance and does not deteriorate when exposed to the elements. Its exceptional UV properties allows for it to be exposed for up to 60 days. The white color surface film is aesthetically pleasing and reflects heat, thereby provides a cooler working surface for the installer.

Strong and Watertight
Rubberized asphalt compound and the impermeable, polyolefinic film laminate form two distinct water barriers, offering dual protection as an underlayment for critical roof sections. The aggressive self-adhesive compound self-seals around nails, and helps attain excellent bond with the smooth, anti-skid film surface even under cold temperature conditions, thus yielding instantly watertight lap seams. Such an immediate bond is unachievable with granule-surfaced underlayments. The high tensile and tear strength characteristics of the film impart exceptional durability to NR500HT, and the unique anti-skid adhesive treatment on the film surface provides superior traction and excellent walkability for the roofer.

The roll is provided in 36 inches width, and 66 feet 8 inch in length, providing 200 sq. ft. of gross coverage per roll. The roll weighs approx. 55 lbs.
