Tarco today announced LeakBarrier™ EasyStick™ mineral-surface cap sheet. This easy-to-install, value-priced, general-purpose roofing product is designed for use as a primary roof covering in select, low-slope residential, industrial, commercial & institutional applications.
LeakBarrier EasyStick is a durable roof. EasyStick is a fiberglass-reinforced, asphalt-coated product with a ceramic granular surface that protects against UV, weathering and physical damage. Tarco offers a 10 Year Limited Warranty for EasyStick products.
EasyStick membranes are clean and easy to handle. The membranes include a self-adhering compound of high-tack, SBS-modified asphalt protected by a release film on the bottom side for easy installation.
EasyStick is general-purpose roofing product. It is well suited for residential low-slope applications such as porches and carports, and for apartment buildings, small office buildings, and factories. Also, EasyStick is ideal for use as an underlayment in tile applications. It can also be used as a moisture-resistant flashing material around skylights, roof edges, vents, ducts and other penetrations.
The self-adhering compound eliminates the fire hazards associated with torch-applied membranes. EasyStick is installed without any heat or open flames.
Application involves simply peeling the release film and rolling out the membrane. No special tools are needed and no fumes or odors are released from torches, hot asphalt or volatile adhesives. Installation times are typically 30 to 40 percent quicker for EasyStick membranes compared to conventional roofing systems.
EasyStick is available in seven colors, including Black, White, Cedar Blend, Dark Brown, Red, Weatherwood and Green. Rolls are 36 inches by 36 feet, or equivalently, 108 square feet. One roll provides about one square of coverage, depending on the application. The approximate weight of one roll is 75 pounds.
EasyStick has an extremely attractive price. Typically, the retail price of a one-square roll of EasyStick membrane is only a fraction of the price of SBS-modified cap sheet providing the same coverage. Traditional SBS capsheet may cost twice as much as EasyStick to cover the same area.
EasyStick membrane is especially effective as a primary covering for a variety of residential roofing applications, including porches, carports, storage sheds and other structures that require a practical, cost-effective, low slope roof covering. Because Easy Stick is easy to apply with no special tools, it can be installed by a handy homeowner or by a do-it-yourselfer.
The sheets are lightweight and easy to handle. The pliability of Easy Stick passes ASTM D-228, which ensures a wrinkle-free, flat-laying sheet. The adhesion strength is 30 pounds per foot of length, as measured by the ASTM D-1970.
